The Impact of Self-Differentiation on Psychological Resilience in Parents of Children with Disabilities and the Mediating Effect of Self-Efficacy
Chung Young-Sook

Abstract
This study aimed to identify whether a causal relationship exists between self-differentiation and resilience in the parents of children with disabilities, and to determine if self-efficacy mediates this relationship. Regression analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between self-differentiation and resilience, and self-differentiation had a significant effect on self-efficacy. The ¥â value of self-differentiation was decreased from .629 to .307 when the both of self-differentiation and the self-efficacy was included as independent variables. The results of hierarchical regression analysis suggest that self-efficacy increases as the level of self-differentiation increases, and this increase improves the resilience of parents of children with disabilities. Statistical significance of the mediating effect was confirmed using regression analysis and the bootstrapping method.
